The Noteworthy Kids Initiative announces a new partnership with UpBeat NYC to bring instruments to children in the Bronx and other New York areas.
Abby McElroy, November 30, 2023 – Getting musical instruments into the hands of young, future musicians is the primary goal of the Noteworthy Kids Initiative, and being able to partner with other organizations to complete this goal is essential to their message. In a brand new partnership with UpBeat NYC, Noteworthy Kids Initiative plans to do just that: fund high-quality instruments for the children that UpBeat NYC works with.
Expanding its reach into the state of New York, the Noteworthy Kids Initiative is proud to announce its partnership with UpBeat NYC. Their initial plan is to “raise $3,000 for bows for violins, violas and cellos and instrument equipment for UpBeat NYC,” said the Co-Founder of the Noteworthy Kids Initiative, Mackenzie Mackie. However, that isn’t where the Noteworthy Kids Initiative will stop.
“That’s just the first step in a large, continuing partnership that will, hopefully, turn into a formidable exchange between our instruments and UpBeat’s programs. The need is always there; the kids in UpBeat’s program will always need instruments and equipment to help keep up with their amazing talents. So the $3,000 isn’t the end-all-be-all number because their organization needs help for these future musicians to excel, and that’s where we step in,” said Mackie.
So far, the Noteworthy Kids Initiative has been able to give a brand new intermediate-level violin to a young musician at UpBeat NYC. And there’s a lot that goes into the preparation of these instruments for UpBeat NYC. “We go through a lot of effort to get the best equipment for these instruments to help set up these children for the highest quality music to help them continue their skills. There’s a lot of added value, that we do on our own dime, to ensure these are playable, high-quality instruments for these kids. The high-quality sound and playability are something that we prioritize in our instruments.”
“We go through a lot of effort to get the best equipment for these instruments to help set up these children for the highest quality music to help them continue their skills. It doesn’t even take a life-changing amount of money to change the lives of these kids; even if you give just $100 to the Noteworthy Kids Initiative, you’re creating a life-changing experience for one of these children,” said Mackenzie Mackie.
Leading the initiative with UpBeat NYC is Amaya Mackie, the New York regional director of the Noteworthy Kids Initiative. As her first project with the Noteworthy Kids Initiative, “I’m genuinely excited about teaming up with UpBeat NYC. They’re doing something amazing by teaching music to kids. I’ve seen firsthand how music can make a difference in a person’s life, and I’m thrilled to have a part in helping these kids to get a chance to discover the joy and lessons that music brings.”
The Noteworthy Kids Initiative is proud to expand its reach to a new state, New York, with this partnership. And, through donations, they hope to raise upwards of $3,000. It’s only with the help of their donors and grants that they’re able to keep up this amazing work, and they’re ecstatic to see this new partnership with UpBeat NYC thrive.
